Sex cannot be defined in one simple sentence, There are many meanings to it and you can always come up with a new answer to the meaning of sex.

Everybody has biologically caused internal needs which motivate the person to perform in a certain way. These needs motive us to to the state of arousal tension which must be reduced to satisfy. An example can be the internal feeling of hunger, tiredness, and arousal. In order to satisfy hunger, we need to eat. In order to stop being tired, we simply need to go to sleep. and if you want to satisfy your own sexual arousal; you simply need to perform an act of sex. whether its masturbation, vaginal, or oral sex; It is what drives our biological needs to satisfy ourselves.

Humanistic view on sex: (theory)

Humanistic perception of sex is the most well known theory out there. Humanistic theory says that humans are forced to achieve their maximum potential and they will always seek a way unless there's something trying to prevent it. Things such as hunger, thirst, depression, family problems, anxiety, and similar things that affect our psychological status are the major obstacles.

The best way to explain this theory is to look at the graph below. It was constructed by a well known psychologist Abraham Maslow and he believed that people have specific criteria that must be met in order to achieve more self-esteem and be able to develop more. The graph shows that on the lower level, we focus on food, sleep, safety, and similar. Without those things, we wouldn't be able to focus on the things above such as need for achievement, education, and competence.

 During our life, we try to achieve the top line of the pyramid: self actualization/realization of all our potential. As we move up in the pyramid, there are some things that can slow us down and sometimes knock us backward. According to Maslow, nobody has ever reached the peak of his pyramid. We can all try and get close, but nobody can achieve full self-actualization. Self-actualization stands for complete understanding for yourself, basically a self-perfection.
